Sulvam, founded by Teppei Fujita in 2014. A graduate of the Bunka Fashion College, backed by a lengthy collaboration with the Yohji Yamamoto Maison, Teppei rapidly earned the acclaim of international members of the trade, first winning the “Tokyo Fashion Award” in 2014 and later awarded the VOGUE price “Who is on Next? Dubai” in 2015.

With emphasis on alluring masculinity while harnessing the pattern making skills acquired under Yohji Yamamoto, Teppei’s style of tailoring reinterpreted in a strongly contemporary key and the focus on extremely high quality fabrics and innovative silhouettes led him to be invited as one of the guest designers at Pitti Uomo in January 2017, with a runway show held at the Stazione Leopolda during PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO 91.

Sulvam is crafted to reflect the times much like an improv jam session in music. The designer himself designs and creates each and every item in the collection, starting with patterns making; it’s a design process where fabrics, patterns and cuts are given the highest priority. Every heartbeat, emotion and thought of the designer is what forms the art of the brand sulvam.
