As you walk into Le Petit Paris you quickly notice the grandness of the restaurant. Located in the historic El Dorado building that was built in 1913, this Downtown LA landmark has now become one of Los Angeles’ hit French spots to eat at. The architecture of Le Petit Paris is beautiful, tall ceilings, a grand staircase, two bars, a lounge, chandeliers, beautifully decorated columns, and even an outdoor patio.
Originally from Cannes, the owners David and Fanny Rolland started their restaurants Miramar Plage on La Croisette and the original Le Petit Paris, which quickly became a huge hit. Le Petit Paris is not your average French dining restaurant, but is a restaurant that really gives you an experience once you take your first steps into the restaurant. You instantly are seduced with the romantic French music, your taste buds start to tantalize from the aroma of the food, and no matter where you are seated you are guaranteed to be treated like royalty.“Bonjour et bienvenue”
As you take that first sip of red wine you start to lose yourself in a trance. It’s time to enjoy your French vacation and relax. With the dim lit ambience, music and now wine flowing through the body you can’t help but wait to take that first bite of escargot. The food at Le Petit Paris is impeccable and the options on the menu are fantastic. You have everything from the tastefully delectable lobster pasta, lamb shank, and even the oysters. When asked for a recommendation we were told to start with Kumiai Oysters, Escargot, and Foie gras. Every item, which had such a unique taste, blissful flavor and eye-catching presentation, so delicious and beautiful that it takes the dinning experience to another level. For the main entrée the lamb shank and lobster pasta is to die for. The meat on the lamb is so tender it falls off the bone so easily. Prepared over a course of 48 hours the lamb is everything that you can ask for. On a bed of vegetables and tasty sauce, the tender meat all together is perfection. The lobster pasta is highly recommended and according to the staff is ordered a lot by the clientele. When taking the first bite of lobster and pasta it just melts in your mouth and you don’t want the bite to end. Overall the food from presentation, taste, and smell is beyond all expectations. You will not be disappointed visiting Le Petit Paris and if you want a mini vacation to France, but the convenience of an Uber ride while in Los Angeles this is the best place to go.
