“Every time I am inspired by something different I like to try and explore the idea.”

Fashion designer Katya Komarova launched her SS18 collection at MBFW Russia on October 24. Katya Komarova presented a wide range of accessories as well as cotton shirt dresses, blouses, pants and skirts. The collection also features a new shoe range.

Katya Komarova continues to offer mindfully handcrafted pieces in Australia, using natural products like high end vegetable tanned leather and cotton. We are excited to share her latest work presenting during MBFW in Moscow.

“The SS18 collection is an exploration of simple forms and new silhouettes” explains Katya. The story began when I was searching for interesting facts around my birth year, 1984. I found that a game ‘Tetris’ was created in USSR in 1984. So I started collecting things for my moodboard.

After having spoken with one of the buyers I work with, we took the idea further to 3D shapes of ‘Minecraft’. This was something I have never been familiar with, but it has created a very strong direction of my new collection. I got very excited.”

“There is lots of versatility in the new collection and I am looking forward to seeing how it is received when I present at MBFW Russia” she said before the runway show.

Katya Komarova established the label in 2014 and brings a refreshing aesthetic to each collection.
