The Spring-Summer 2022 collection ‘’ Knights of the present’’ is inspired by knights and the designer’s search for the answer to whether there are knights of our time, whether there is a knight in each of us and what chivalry actually means.
Are the knights of the past a reflection of strength and protection or just violence and the search for material benefits? If we start from the fact that knights are a symbol of strength, courage, and good intentions, do they exist today, and are there any of those left in us, or have we totally neglected them, put them to sleep, and maybe destroyed them with our insatiable need to satisfy our desires and needs? So selfish in our pleasures, we stopped paying attention to the real state of the world around us, thinking only about how to tuck ourselves into the comfortable zone of our existence.
The message that the designer wants to send with this collection is that the strength and courage we all carry within us should be used to improve the world we live in, to enlighten ourselves through meeting and accepting other people, for spreading social responsibility, for awakening empathy and the need to help other human beings. To inspire people around us with our example of such chivalry.
The garments are the result of a symbiosis of art and everyday life, they are not enslaved by rules. ‘’As an introvert, I want to show people my insides through my clothing, I want them to be my means of pushing boundaries and to challenge myself and the people around me. I want to show people that freedom research, creativity, and play are very important for understanding, accepting other people, for developing empathy and accepting diversity.’’
CHANYMARIA pieces are for all those who live fashion and through it they express and communicate. For those who dare to experiment by combining different styles and fabrics. In this collection, the designer used grey, black, red, and several green tones as the primary ones.
‘’With wide shoulders and oversize balloon sleeves, I wanted to express the physical and mental strength of humans and the channeling of that energy into altruism and faith in the good of every person.
