Last Friday, on November 9th, the artist Liana Ghukasyan opened to the public her Blues For You solo exhibition in Tariel Bisharian Showroom Milano.
Liana Ghukasyan is a Milan-based talented painter with Armenian origins. Liana’s paintings are an event themselves, more than an object. They are open stories and self-examination, sometimes also the reflection of her extraordinary life journey – born in Magdeburg to Armenian parents, grew up in Armenia and then transferred to Milan, where she found her destination and inspiration as an artist.
Her career includes solo exhibitions as ANGELS – ANIMALS, curated by Domenico Maria Papa, Nuvole Arte Contemporanea Montesarchio and Credo nei prossimi 7 minuti, curated by Sarah Lanzoni, Galleria Apres-coup Arte Milano. As well as art trade shows Wopart Lugano, Biennale VIZ Art Tirana.
We had a chance to talk and ask Liana few questions about her exhibition Blues For You. Check it out.

SPM: Liana! Congratulations! Please tell us  more about the exhibition.

Liana: This exhibition is my first experience out of an art gallery. I believe one can experiment in any space if it is done with elegance and strict concept. It is more important what you want to say, the message behind.  One can bewitch a new space with elegance, and connect himself to that space. I hope I have succeeded.

SPM: Which artist or painter has influenced you?

Liana: Painters that inspire me are Grunewald, Varlin, Cranach. I love their works.

SNM: Do you think that today painting is underappreciated?

Liana: No! I believe that real and high painting exist. Art is priceless! It should be created with Grace! The canvas should breath! Painting will never die. Never!

SNM: If you were about to be reborn, what would you like to be — still a painter?

Liana:  Interesting question (laughing).  I would have probably been a surgeon during the night, and a director during the day.
