August Getty first presented his collection in LA in November 2015 through a visceral evening influenced by skin, touch and sensuality. Guests entered the Getty rabbit hole into an immersive, interactive theatrical experience by legendary creative David LaChapelle, built in to the preexisting sets of Universal Studios, Hollywood.
Vignetted rooms offered guests the opportunity to explore surreal and cinematic sets conceived by LaChapelle where a fascinating interplay of models including his sister Nats Getty transgender social media star and Getty muse Gigi Gorgeous alongside characters and dancers showcased in the SS16 AUGUST GETTY collection.
The SS16 collection, ‘Thread of Man’, represents the powerful women who have inspired the designer. Using the skin tone of five iconic women as a foundation, August has built the structure, colour palette and mood of this luxurious collection.
