Rosemarie Abele

In fashion, real cultural currency comes from taking something woefully uncool and common to something cool and unique; Rosemarie focused on producing inventively designed pieces that inspires and uplifts the wearer. Her latest collection was inspired by different elements from cultures to art, the richness of the collection was the diversity of different element that perfectly blend into a collection of clothes that is also rich in craftiness.

We linked up with the talented designer to get a piece of what inspired the collection:

The collection is called Al-Magrib – which is the Arabic word for Morocco – since the collection is very much inspired by Moroccan architecture and style when it comes to colours, details and print. An additional inspiration for the collection is Leonardo Da Vinci and his artwork, especially his sketches on human anatomy.

Black, white and beige are core colours accompanied by denim, cobalt blue and burned orange. The Moroccan silhouette is seen in the wide legs and a specified waist.

Among some of the styles you will find tailored suits, detailed jackets, airy evening gowns and cool swimwear. The overall vibe is luxurious, detailed, powerful and bold. Materials used in the collection are neoprene, denim, cotton canvas, suede, jacquard woven cotton/polyamide, silk/polyamide, and mesh, silk satin and silk georgette, which adds a variety of textures and feel to the collection.
