The Strathberry family

Strathberry is an Edinburgh based luxury label founded in 2013 that  creates leather goods, handcrafted in Spain by the finest artisans, using high quality materials. Strathberry products are defined by clean lines and the signature bar closure. Captivated by the craftspeople they encountered during their travels in Spain, Guy and Leeanne Hundleby were inspired to create a luxury label in their native Scotland.

With no formal training, they began making intricate paper models of their bag designs inspired by the iconic bar closure found on a vintage music case. Their dedication to creating a product of unparalleled design and quality has attracted collaborators from the global fashion community, who are now permanent members of the Strathberry family.

The name Strathberry pays homage to the history and tradition of Scottish textiles. Centuries ago Women dyed fabric beside the Strath, an ancient Scottish word for river, using the Blaeberry, a blueberry like fruit.

With Chinese New Year just around the corner, Strathberry joins hands with renown Chinese Fashion Blogger Mr. Bags to launch a limited edition Chinese New Year capsule collection taking you on a sweet pink journey through years of Chinese culture. As inspiration for the New Year 2017, the idea of a “Sweet Pink Fantasy” is a concept by Mr. Bags: “I wish to create designs that can really appeal to youthful female shoppers, creating a whimsical dream come true for them.” Therefore, the pastel pink colour became the themed colour of this collection, accompanied by an interchangeable playful accessory using a distinct Chinese red colour leather tag. During the process of this collaboration, Mr. Bags visited the leather goods workshop in Spain, establishing a meaningful exchange with the finest artisans, discussing the craftsmanship and process of creating a Strathberry bag.
