Urban infants terrible-these are the women that Francesco Scognamiglio brings to the runway for the next SS17. His imagination engenders a new universe, Feminine and À La Garçonne.

A 21st century neo-renaissance in a blend of magic spells and embroidery; jacquard inspired by imperial China -gold and pearls, reinterpreted with bright vibrant colors such as seawater green and fuchsia-oversize volumes for loose-fitting blouses that turn into dresses; skirts embellished with inserts and printed floral bouquets on a white background, electric blue accents verging on purple.

Dresses are mini, worked with sculptural lace and decorated with exquisitely delicate embroidery- sprays of silver threads- and more nautical influences on urban details as a foil to the romanticism. A nod to the mail world: oversize sweaters of luxury cashmere, and double-breasted, teamed with short-short dresses. Golden fringes embellish simple, clean jackets with an almost military fit and decorated with large pearls. Inspired by the male wardrobe, knitted boots complete an aristocratic, irreverent mood.

A sophisticated, blasé nonchalance in which heritage is given a contemporary character: a refined taste for distressed textures intentionally chosen to contrast the structures.

A tribute to Italian artisan skills showcased in couture creations revised with an “everyday” twist.
