In “The Greatest“, Maddie Ziegler is yet again assisting Sia in her music video visual. This time they paired up to tribute the 49 lives taken at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, FL. This is a dark tribute with so much meaning behind everything from the ambiance to every face in the room. The fact that there’s a kid representing every life taken truly makes this a video that’ll hold your attention. Ziegler provides an outstanding performance along with the rest of the cast dancing as one with full commitment to facial expression and precise movements. Every tribute has been unique thus far but expressing the innocence of the victims with children is a difficult visual that becomes eye opening. When looking at a child one knows they have a family, but what about the victims? They did too.

The silence in the beginning and in the end of the video along with visuals of bodies laying side by side and on top of one another is rather intense. Maddie Ziegler’s last scene mourning with rainbow cheeks is dark yet beautiful to say the least.

Sia has become a staple name for radio ballads, “The Greatest” is another hit. It’s admirable to see an artist put effort to say something meaningful in their music as well as stand for something.
