Cosa Buena offers culturally responsible, immersive retreats. On the retreats, you will visit the homes of local artisans and community leaders, deepening your understanding of Oaxaca’s people, places, cultures, and history. These meaningful – often transformational – experiences promote a mutual respect and understanding across cultures and borders.

Plantas Sagradas, Sacred Plants — An intimate retreat exploring Oaxaca’s Sierra Norte region. We journey deep into the cloud forest to learn from masters of medicinal plants, ancestral cooking, traditional medicine, and the region’s coveted edible mushrooms.

The Cosa Buena Foundation’s mission is to collaborate with grassroots community leaders, to develop and support social impact programs that address community-identified needs.

At the center of what holds the foundation’s mission together is a belief that grassroots organizing and community-based approaches empower those who are most affected by an issue, allowing them to have direct control over their lives and to take action to advocate for change.
